Thank you for visiting this page on linguistic features in the morphology of Old English. This was a final project for an independent research class in morphology through the English Department at York College. This is my first CUNY Commons site and there will be many more features and additions to the page coming throughout the summer including a photo gallery, an archive section on academic articles of linguistics, archaeology and anthropology all pertaining to Old English. Some of the newer features will also include an interactive glossary and many more audio visual additions as well. My intention is to make this site a mini text book so I will be adding more information to all of the individual sections already published here to make it more user-friendly to those who might be just beginning linguistics.
About Me
My name is Alina Fernanda Picayo and I am just a few credits shy of receiving my B.S. from the CUNY B.A/B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies Program. My Home college is York College in Jamaica and I also take courses at the Graduate Center in linguistics. I will be continuing my Master’s degree at CUNY in the same area of concentration as my Bachelor’s degree (Applied Linguistics with classes fashioned for a multilingual speaker, a.k.a, I take as many classes as I can in other languages I am comfortable in with Linguistics as the focus).
I am Cuban and Mexican and was raised in the West Indies. My family immigrated to New York when I was twelve or thirteen years old, I am the oldest of five sisters, live with my two chubby cats, eat dinner every night with my grandma where we all live in the same building together in downtown Manhattan, and MOST of all I love languages and talking about them. Please feel free to share any thoughts on this site and its content with me.
